Fate and Fortune: Gold miners of Itogonby ~rakabs

small scale miners hanging out by their barracks, telling their tales for the day.

Because of the heat and humidity inside the burrows, some small scale miners prefer entering the shafts shirtless to stay cool. Also they prefer entering without a helmet, because according to them, the helmets only get in their way.

Taken at Itogon, Benguet, Philippines, considered as one of the original mining sites in the Cordilleras.
